Asia Wonders. . .

As promised, here are some pictures from Asia (lol, there's lots).

There are two shower units in my grandparent's house, and while the first unit looked normal to me... I couldn't quite get over the second unit... which is why I took pictures! I still don't get how you shower... notice where the door handle is... where the shower head is and the shower curtain is... how do you comfortably fit in there? Needless to say, I wasn't brave enough to try and maneuver it.

Next is a picture of our $10Can lunch Mom and I had. She had a duck noodle soup, while I had chicken w/ rice and french toast w/ peanut butter inside (mmm YUMMY, definitely one of my favourite things to eat in Asia).

Here are some pictures of Macau, it doesn't have all the glitz and glamour like Vegas has but I loved the architecture of the old buildings there. It was a strange mixture of asian and european

In Macau, we ate some Portuguese food we had Casquinna Recheada, Arroz de Ananaz no Forno, and Entre Costo de Vaca Grelhado. When I showed my Portuguese Coworkers they told me I had in fact eaten Faked Portuguese food, just like how they eat Fake Chinese food here in Canada. Lol.

A couple of days into my trip... I noticed with astonishment that the floor to the elevator at my grandparent's house was in fact... our granite that we picked out for the kitchen! Of course I had to take a picture LOL. Afterwards I noticed that a lot of buildings had marble and granite stairways... such beautiful buildings that I never took the time to notice.

My cousin's friend was getting married, and they let me crash the Bachlorette Party at Lan Kwai Fong. The bride was super friendly and funny. She bought all the guest lingere to wear lol. My cousin assures me that this is not a HK tradition and that she's never seen that before. Here's my cousin and I, we're only 2 weeks apart in age!

Dad recommended that Mom and I eat at Hokkaido Rice Pizza. Yep... the base of the pizza is rice... it's kinda weird but not bad tasting. We ended up choosing to eat a mango & chicken rice pizza. It was one of those, you gotta try things.... not sure if it's good enough to go eat again but it sure is unique.

Walking along the street, we came across a Crepe stand. I was too full to eat any, but I had to take a picture cause it looked so yummy. Mmmm.

Course, whenever we visit Asia I always have to eat Japanese food since the fish is so much fresher over there. I'm not a big fan of Tuna, but the Tuna Belly (Toro) just melted in my mouth! Too bad it cost $14 Can for 3 pieces :(

Dad wanted to eat pork at home, so Mom and I went to the local market to get some meat. I've never seen a whole pig's leg or tongue so I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take a picture LOL. Course the butcher kinda thought I was funny.

Another must eat on my Asia trip is.... McDonald's Apple Pie! About 18 years ago the McDonald's apple pie was fried ... and then they switched over to the healthy baked version. Well I kinda never really got over the old apple pie and ever since I was young I always went to McDonald's in HK to eat my beloved apple pie from my childhood. Course when I tell people this, they don't remember the old apple pie so they think im crazy LOL. I was too busy eating to take a picture. But I did take a picture of their Shogun Burger... I didn't get a chance to eat it but it sure looked good! (PS.. don't try the chocolate pie...it's NOT good)

Now since my mom knows how much I love Bun Rieu, she actually found a place that made it and brought me there. It definitely tasted different (more sour) and looked different... that I actually went up to the owner to make sure I was eating the right stuff. Well... my aunt was right... Viet food tastes alot better in Canada then over there. Look, even the Pho doesn't look right...

Lastly, here's mom and dad walking on the harbour. Hope you enjoyed my trip!
