The Long Awaited Post. . .

Sorry, there haven't been any new posts for awhile. I bet you think we've been so busy with wedding items that we've neglected the blog. Sadly the opposite is true. We don't have much left to do, and the items we do need to get done we're awaiting on others before it can be completed.

Luckily this weekend we did some wedding stuff so I can happily blog now!

So bright and early at 11:15am we had our cake tasting with Alexandra & Rosie. As you remember Alexandra is making our wedding cake and she is going to work with Rosie to create a masterpiece! Upon our request Rosie made 3 flavors for us to taste. Chocolate cake with Vanilla icing, Vanilla cake with Chocolate icing, and Marble cake with Mocha icing. As you know Van and I are simpletons and so we loved the Chocolate cake with Vanilla Icing and the Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing and decided on these two cakes. My goodness I've just noticed that both cakes we have the word "Van" in it. . . Bahahahhhahaahhaha that's hilarious. Anyways the cakes were spongy delicious soft and were so mouthwatering! Definitely the best thing to have in the morning!

We then headed over to Alexandra's house where she showed us the "Just Married" sign she completed! It's a bit more peachy then coral, but I still love the bright happy colors :) And of course one less thing to worry about! Thank you Alexandra!

And of course I've saved the best for last! Introducing the Photo Card Box that Van has made! I found the instructions for the project on
http://roadtotheaisle.blogspot.com/2007/09/diy-photo-frame-cardbox.html which Van lightly read and decided to wing it. Originally we put the frames horizontally because we thought we'd be getting alot of cards since we don't have a gift registry. Well after seeing how massive it was, I quickly voiced my concern to Van who then assembled them vertically LOL :) We did differ from the instructions in that instead of a foam board for the top piece, we decided to use a piece of wood. Instead of spray painting it black (original idea) I came across another site where someone used a sheet of shelf liner. After much debate with Van, we strolled over to home depot and found a faux leather shelf liner which definitely make it look alot more elegant. All in all, it's pretty awesome looking in person! Here's the almost completed project, can't wait to add pictures in it.
