Beginners Review of the 30 Day Shred
So I've completed the 30 day shred! I did 10 days of each level, and averaged 4 days a week turning it into a 8 week progress. I didn't see extreme results like the "lose 20lbs in 30 days" but then again I didn't change any of my eating habits. As someone that never works out and doesn't really play sports I liked the simplicity of the workouts. They were basic and simple that anyone can do, though word of caution I did find it was a bit rough on my knees so people with bad knees should be careful. After the 30 days I lost 1 inch in the bust, .75 inch in the waist and .5 inch in the hips, and basically only 5lbs in total. As Van says I'm not as heavy as the contestants on the Biggest Loser so it would be ridiculous if I could lost alot of weight in short amount of time. As I'm noticing my arms are more defined and my thighs are firmer, I can live with the 5lbs lost.
So what do I think of this Dvd? I think it's good but it has to be supplemented with good eating habits. I'm still not able to commit to giving up my love of food, but the last 2 weeks I've been trying to modify it. I haven't changed my total portion, intake of food but I'm changing the types. Ie. Instead of 50% rice, 25% meat, 25% veggies I'm now eating 25% rice, 25% meat and 50% veggies. Hopefully that will help with more results.I'm going to continue on with the Shred and start back at level 1 next week and try not to do so many modified moves. I think I'm going to alternate it with some cardio from 10 min trainer. I definitely like how easy I now sleep at night, and I now have a better appreciation of my body. Looking now, it really wasn't that bad to begin with or maybe I'm just standing up straighter now (lol). Here's an approved picture of Van at the end of today:
