Rings! *Warning Picture Heavy*

First I have to post a picture of what we ate today, because I spent a couple of hours making Bun Rieu! It's my favourite Vietnamese dish and the recipe is from Vans mom. Looks pretty authentic doesn't it?

Now back to the main story. Yesterday we found out that Van's ring was ready so we decided to pick it up today! And boy did it turn out pretty! We also got a nice surprise that it was $100-$200 less then what they quoted!! They had suggested instead of 18K gold to go with a new 14K gold alloy that they thought looked much better and was shinier, so we're not sure if the price decrease was because of that or because the price of gold went down. Either way we love the corporate work discount!

Course I can't have a Rings Post without my wedding bands! Here is a picture of all my rings, all from Asia

Now I'm sure you're wondering why I have more then 1 wedding band. Well I'll show you why with pictures!

Here's a picture of 1 wedding band; since it's so thin I thought it didn't look right by itself, though it does look perfect with my wedding band. But as you will come to know me, I didn't really wear my engagement ring in winter because it kept getting stuck in gloves, scarves & etc.

Now here's a picture of 2 of my wedding bands together! Awh, perfect width.

Here's a picture now of my engagement ring and wedding bands; oh my it's a bit blingy hey? I don't know if I'll really wear it like this or if I'll just wear 1 wedding band with the engagement ring. (I just love the side view where you can still see the "V" in the ring.

So all in all, that's why I have 2 wedding bands

plus the reason of "just in case I lose one" (lol), and my favourite number is 3! I'm so very luckily spoiled sometimes.

After we picked up the rings, we went to get them engraved. The jeweller suggested a place downtown where they send their rings. Boy I guess we should have clued in right there it would be a bit more expensive :( Oh well, damage done.


Here's the engraving in my engagement ring that was done in Asia, it says "Cynthia & Van" it's very faint and I love it!

Here's the engraving in both my wedding bands that was done here downtown. It says "08.15.09" and its quite bold. So bold that I thought it was part of the markings on the ring and took me several glances trying to find the engraving!

Here's Van's wedding band engraved with "08.15.09" as well, it's not as faint as my engagement ring or as bold as my wedding bands so its a nice medium!

Okay sorry with the picture overload, I guess you can tell I was super excited! Do you love how I zoomed into the rings to make them look Ginormous?
