Water Bottle Labels

I love my weds off, gives me more time to work on my little projects everywhere. Course working 10 hour days 4 days a week does get tough sometimes. (Side note: I miscalculated my vacation time, and ended up working some weds to make up some time. . . what a waste cause now I figured out I have 6.5 weeks off this year! I only get 3 weeks, so you can imagine how little vacation I took last year and how many weds I worked. I only really wanted 5 weeks, maybe 6 max . . . well guess I can't complain to much right?)

So anyways on my day off (when I really should be studying for my April exam), I decided to start the water bottle labels! I thought our guest would most appreciate this gesture and plus van has 2 fridges at his house! We have some leftover sticker paper that we used for etching, so I'm going to see if it will waterproof them.

Free paper + Free storage = Cost Effective DIY!

Well I found some templates online as Word documents & Powerpoint . . . but they were a bit limited in what I wanted to accomplish. So . . . I'm doing it from scratch! Here's what I have so far, not really worth posting but oh well :) I think I might have to study the templates a bit more to get a better idea of what I'll do for the sides, but I'm crafting this project strictly on Photoshop. Here's what I did so far . . . I ripped a water bottle label off at home to measure the dimensions of it and then went to photoshop to recreate. I used one of the old monograms I created and played around with the colors (can you believe this took me 30 mins?). I'll have to post more when I play around with it. But need to get back to studying again *sigh*

*** Feb 21/09 update: just spent about 2 hours on photoshop and here is what I came up with. The words were borrowed from someone else's water bottle template, and hopefully the modified monogram will appease Sandy ;). I think I need more inspiration pictures of labels to get some more fresh ideas OR I guess I could put this out there as a challenge to anyone that wants to play around and come up with one for me . . . *cough* brother *cough*.

*** Feb 23/09 update: as always, brother loves a challenge and has already sent me something. It's so awesome that I'm going to keep it as a secret until the wedding day. Good Job Brother! Anyone else wanting to try the challenge?

P.S. Van thinks brother's idea is cheating and is only "okay". He says he expected better. ooooh brother. . . is that another challenge to please Van?
